Principal Piping Designer – Fluor - UK

Job Description

Due to the award of a number of major, world-class projects, Fluor is now in an exciting period of significant growth, and as such we are now keen to speak with experienced professionals across all disciplines and departments to fill immediate staffing requirements based here in the UK headquarters in Farnborough.
Piping Designers
Candidates will be able to:-
Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design Piping drawings of advanced complexity
Prepare 3D Piping and Equipment models of advanced complexity
Prepare layouts and/or schematics for conceptual and detailed designs of advanced complexity
Check work done by other Designers
Conduct reviews of model using 3D Review platform.
Review drawings, and vendor equipment documentation of advanced complexity from both within the discipline as well as from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements and actively seeks resolution
Review fabricator drawings
Apply project drawing standards to design drawings
Perform bulk material take-off analysis and tabulations
Participate in people development through mentoring of less experienced Designers
Work independently with little or no supervision

Basic Job Requirements

Suitable candidates will be educated to a minimum ONC level. HNC or equivalent in Engineering is
preferred. They will be proficient in the use of 2D AutoCAD & Microstation and Intergraph PDS. Candidates will have demonstrable experience of detailed design project (EPC) execution for oil, gas and chemical industry clients.
