Senior Design Engineer - Piping ( Engineering Oil&Gas ) Exterran Oman

Position Summary

·         Deliver Roles and Responsibilities as defined, be responsible for on time, on quality and on budget engineering deliverables. Reporting to Engineering Manager.

·         Preparation, review and approval of Design and detail engineering, review of specifications, calculations, contract documents as applicable to Projects and Proposals.

·         Ensuring deliverables with required engineering details that meet International Standards, Organization Standards and Customer Standards as applicable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·                    Carrying out activities for Basic engineering, detailed engineering and Proposal engineering

·                    Review Proposal & detail engineering document for scope clarity

·                    Planning, scheduling  & controlling of project activities & deliverables

·                    Identify clear scopes of work, preparation of the Master Document Register (MDR). Quantifies the total number of deliverables and format of delivery, and other requirements for execution of the work.

·                    Lead & Supervise team of Engineer and designer to complete the activity / deliverable with quality and agreed schedule.

·                    Provide administrative assistance to Discipline Manager.

·                    Review contract & raise TQs wherever necessary.

·                    Provide inputs to planner to make Engineering schedule

·                    Man hour estimation

·                    Coordinate with projects and planning on project time schedules, establish target completion dates, ensure target dates are achieved.

·                    Lead & Supervise team  to complete activity / deliverable with quality and agreed schedule

·                    Participate in meetings with Clients for 30%, 60% and 90% model review.

·                    Review the plant 3D model for all design, accessibility, Maintainability, constructability, operability.

·                    Piping MTO review and finalization

·                    Monitor the preparation of conceptual layout and designs obtain inputs from other Engineering disciplines through the “Need list” documents.

·                    Perform independently Technical Bid Evaluation, Vendor drawings review, preparation of Material Requisitions, technical specifications, data sheets and provide technical clarification. (Must for Material Engineer)

·                    Knowledge to perform stress analysis for connected lines with Tank, Pumps, Refrigerant, Centrifugal & Reciprocating Compressor, Tower, Vessel, Reboiler, Boiler, Catalytic Reactor, Exchanger, Air fin Cooler, Plate type heat Exchanger, Cryogenic  Piping, Design & preparation of piping supports std. (Hot, Cryo Supports), Spring support Selection. (Must for Stress Engineer)

·                    Participate in meetings with other discipline Engineers clarify and ensure specification meet with client requirements in cost effective manner.

·                    Preparation and Checking of  Equipment layout, Piping layout with respect to Model

·                    Check Inter disciplinary documents for civil and structural drawings, static, P&ID, Rotatory equipment’s and packages.

·                    Checking of Piping Deliverables (Isometrics, GA Drawings, Tie-In Location Plan, Tie-In Isometrics,).

·                    Preparation of Design Information to Civil & Structural (Structure Load Data, Pipe rack Anchor Loading Data, Cut Out Information, Pipe Support Information).

·                    Preparation of Design Information to Mechanical-Static (Nozzle Orientation Drawing, Platform Orientation Detail Information, Support Clip Information & Nozzle Loads).

·                    Review of Technical Documents & Drawings from other Functional Disciplines.

·                    Committed to meet deadlines as required by project schedule and assists other Designers to meet their deadlines.

Required Education

·         Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical or Chemical.

Preferred Education

·                    Associates Degree or Technical School Training in ME, EE, Computer Aided Design Technology or related field

Required Experience & Skills

·                    15+Years of related experience in petrochemical / Oil & Gas industries with EPC, Proposal / detail engineering companies

·                    Knowledge in preparing Equipment layout and finalizing the pipe routing.

·                    Knowledge in preparing of Piping Material Specification, Requisition and Technical specification, Data sheet, Material input for PDMS customization.(Must for Material Engineer)

·                    Knowledge to perform stress analysis for connected lines with Tank, Pumps, Refrigerant, Centrifugal & Reciprocating Compressor, Tower, Vessel, Reboiler, Boiler, Catalytic Reactor, Exchanger, Air fin Cooler, Plate type heat Exchanger, Cryogenic  Piping, Design & preparation of piping supports std. (Hot, Cryo Supports), Spring support Selection. (Must for Stress Engineer)

·                    Familiarity with following tools:  PDMS, CADWorx Plant Professional, E3D, Neviswork, Ceaser-II.

·                    Knowledge of International Codes & Standards, Piping Materials, Valves.

·                    Ability to work well in a team environment.

·                    Good organizational & communicational skills.

Preferred Experience & Skills

·                    Proficient with email system  - Microsoft Outlook preferred;

·                    Good organizational and planning skills

·                    Experience in related industry

·                    Working knowledge in compression, power generation, or offshore oil and gas.

·                    Familiarity with tools like Oracle, WRENCH.

·                    Working knowledge in compression, power generation.
