Purpose / Role
• To support the Principal Engineer, and to work with the Piping Team in delivering the Piping Engineering Design meeting AMEC and Client criteria for Technical Design Quality, Technical Safety and within allocated timescale.
• The work involves conceptual and detail design for offshore brownfield projects in a developing organisation.
Key aims and objectives
• To support the Piping Team to deliver to Clients needs, working safely and accurately.
• To actively take part in and support the career development of the teams graduate and other technical design personnel.
Prime responsibilities and duties
• Preparation of Piping design including front end, detail design and close out deliverables, as directed by the Principal Engineer.
• To work with the Engineering Team in providing safe designs.
Allied occasional duties
• Prepare and provide graduate and technical development sessions.
• Occasional short offshore visits to survey and develop designs.
Key internal interfaces
• Other disciplines – especially process, instruments, mechanical, and technical safety.
• Asset Project team , Procurement, Planning, QA, HSE,
Key external interfaces
• Liaise with BP Engineering and Operations for input to design (as applicable) under guidance of Principal Eng.
• Liase with relevant vendors and suppliers (under guidance of Principal Engineers) to obtain design information
Core competencies
• Competent technically in discipline.
• Good communication skills and able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
