Senior Piping Stress Engineer-Expat

Job Description Functional Duties:
Responsible for stress analysis of piping systems in conformance with project
requirements, design parameters, codes and industry practices under general
direction of the Chief Engineer. May supervise specialized technical sub-groups.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Input to coaching, teaching, mentoring and effective supervision of assigned personnel.
• Prepare designs in accordance with ASME Codes B31.3 , B31.4 , B31.8
• Prepare piping design with equipment loads in accordance with API 617, NEMA SM21, API 610 & API 650.
• Assists in the developing and implementation of Piping Engineering administrative and technical practices, specifications, and procedures.
• Monitors and implements Quality Checking Procedures and ensures they are adhered to.
• Responsible for developing Project Piping Stress Engineering CTR’s for review with Chief Engineer.
• Responsible for input into the Plot Plan development.
• Assures that design continuity is maintained throughout the entire project.
• Reports to the Chief Engineer the status of Piping Stress Engineering activities and Deliverables.
• Ensures communication flow, both verbal and written, is maintained within Piping Engineering and with other engineering disciplines.
• Coordinates Piping Stress activities with other engineering groups.
• Identifies deviations in job scope, estimates changes, and initiates PVN’s for review with Chief Engineer.
• Prepares and distributes design instructions pertaining to piping stress requirements..
• Represents Piping Stress Engineering in meetings with suppliers, subcontractors, licensors, clients, and other Company disciplines, and produces documentation required for conference or meeting notes.
• Submits Project Design standards, specifications, documents and drawings for issue.
• Assists in the development of the Piping Stress Engineering Section of the project completion report.
• Stand in for Chief Piping Engineer if required during periods of absence.
• On assignment to the field, co-ordinates or carries out work on site surveys, measurements, and other site engineering activities.
Piping Stress Specific Activities and Deliverables:
• Develops piping flexibility, pipe support & expansion joint specifications.
• Performs visual, manual, and computer stress analysis of piping systems.
• Compiles calculation packages for each system analyzed.
• Reviews request for quotation and purchase requests for cost and technical completeness for stress engineered related components.
• Assists in resolving field construction inquiries.
• Check piping designs and details.
• Provide input into proposals and estimates.

• Piping Stress Sketches.
• Pipe Stress Calculations.
• Equipment Displacement Calculations.
• Pipe Support Calculations.
• Pipe Support Details.
• Specifications for stress engineered related components.
Job Requirements Qualification: Engineering Degree or Diploma
Experience:
Preferably 8-12 years plus relevant, depending on the individual, prior experience or additional training, job assignments, etc. Preferably 3 to 5 years of relevant Area/Unit Lead Engineer experience
