We are currently sourcing for a Senior Piping Stress Engineer for an 'ongoing contract' role located just off Aberdeen City Centre.

Responsibilities and tasks
Organisational:
• Assist in the preparation of CTR’s and man-hour estimates via the Aker Management System where applicable.
• Ensure work is completed on Schedule and within budget.
• Ensure project deliverables are generated via the Aker Kvaerner Management system where applicable.
• Review and check the work of others.
• Assist the lead or principal engineer in the planning, co-ordination and execution of the groups work activities.
• Liase with other disciplines on design, construction, fabrication and commissioning issues.
• Provide added value to the development of their discipline / function.
• Direct sub-ordinate engineers in their work.
• Assist the lead engineer in the compilation of weekly reports on progress via the Aker Kvaerner Integrated Management system where applicable.
• May have responsibility for the performance of others within their discipline / function.
• Provide engineering and technical direction for drawing office personnel.
• Deputise for the principal engineer – provision of holiday, sickness cover when required.
Technical:
• Execute stress analysis of piping systems in a competent and professional manner and in accordance with company procedures.
• Carry out manual and computer analysis using Caesar II.
• Prepare technical reports on analyses.
• Review and comment on vendor information and assist with inspection and testing.
• Review and check subordinate engineers work.
• Attend meetings as and when required.
• Carry out onshore / offshore surveys and answer site queries, when required.
• Ensure familiarity with Aker Solutions’ HSEQ Policies, Principles, Just Care™, HSE Mindset, Just Rules, Just Culture and HSE Operating System

• Take personal responsibility for HSE local site rules and ensure regular review of your personal HSE agreement
• Intervene and ensure intervention by others where required
• Report all accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with Procedures
• Keep abreast of industry developments and innovations that may affect safety and welfare of personnel or protection of the environment, and inform colleagues accordingly
Qualifications & personal attributes
• Educated to HNC/HND level in engineering discipline
• Educated to degree level in engineering discipline
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer
Specific Training / Specialist Skills
• Sound working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards
• Conversant with appropriate technical software
• Aware of latest technical developments
• Current Offshore Survival Certificate.
• Current Offshore Medical Certificate.
Experience
• Demonstrable relevant professional experience
