Overview / Responsibilities

Wood is looking for a Senior Piping Designer who aspires to be part of the site engineering team delivering a world class mineral processing facility.

The greenfield project will produce Lithium Hydroxide Monohydrate from a 2 train processing plant with a forecasted 40,000 per annum (Tpa) output. Further expansion plans into 2025 will see a total production of 100,000 tonnes per annum. The plant is being constructed at the Kemerton Strategic Industrial Area approximately 160 km south of Perth, Western Australia and 17 km north-east of the thriving regional centre of Bunbury.

The position will initially be for a duration of six months based on site with a 5/2 roster from Perth.

Position Specifics & Deliverables

• Report to the site engineering manager, the main function of the role will be to resolve the piping design issues on site
• Respond to the site technical queries
• Develop 3D Piping models as required
• Develop 2D Piping General Arrangement and Isometric Drawings
• Update the 3D model and the 2D drawings based on the site modifications
• Ensure zero harm by following HSE procedures

Skills / Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years design drafting experience
• Strong knowledge in applying relevant industry design practices and key national and international standards and codes
• Thorough knowledge of Equipment layout Development, Piping layout design for all types of equipment such as Vessels, Exchangers, Tanks, Filters and Pumps
• Hands-on experience with 3D design and drafting tools such as Plantspace, Openplant, PDMS
• Ability to deliver best practice plant/piping design, with emphasis on cost-effective engineering
• Flexible approach and able to work under pressure with a can-do attitude
• Excellent attention to detail
• Possess good interpersonal skills with sound written and oral communication skills
