Purpose:

Provides discipline team supervision by directing project execution activities and discipline deliverable creation for one large or several smaller projects. Completes discipline technical work for projects, as time permits.

Responsibilities:

• Develop complex equipment and piping layout that will satisfy all technical requirements on a project from the preliminary design stage through the detail design stage and review the work for the assigned area as being developed by a design team. Have a working knowledge of all safety, maintainability and operability layout requirements.
• Coordinate area design assignments with designers in adjacent design areas. 
• Produce or assist less experienced designers in producing finished Piping Design deliverables through the use of CADWorx.
• Check, or supervise the checking of design and deliverables as prepared by other designers for accuracy, completeness and compliance with company and project specifications and standards.
• Produce Piping Design schedules and estimates for personnel hours and material requirements
• Maintain project controls and records as required.
• Assist in the training and development of Piping Design personnel and evaluate the work of others.
• May be required to climb ladders and stairs during field site visits.
• Should have past experience working in refineries and similar downstream facilities.

What you bring

Technical and Industry Experience: 

• Typically minimum of 12 years progressively responsible piping related design and layout experience in downstream Refinery, Oil & Gas industry.  
• Some field experience in live refinery plants required, 
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical.  
• Usually able to explain why things are done the way they are within a broader organizational context.  
• Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.  
• Ability to maintain confidential information critical.
