Pipe Spool Coordinator
Reports to Project Materials Manager
Manage, on the behalf of GBU, the entire pipe spool supply chain, including fabricators, test labs, distributors, steel mills, etc.
Knowledge / Capability
• Understands piping model development and ISO generation processes.
• Work with Materials Manager and Construction to prioritise lines and assist in development of priority sequences for ISO production within an area to ensure ISOs are issued to meet construction discrete schedule requirements and then relay this information through to Engineering for execution.
• Interface between Engineering, Document Control and fabricators for controlling the issue of ISOs once produced, RFI/SDDR cycling and issue resolution.
• Ensures data exchanges are performed between SP3D and other BSAPs to ensure all systems are tracking latest data.
• Manages Holds and ensure hold releases are actioned or managed according to current fabrication status.
• Manages revisions to ensure revisions are actioned or managed according to current fabrication status.
• Coordinates with Materials Management to assist in shop sequencing and material alignment.
• Monitors metrics for process performance and trends variations to plan to assist in avoidance of schedule issues.
Build and manage the organization
o Participates in developing job hour and travel budgets to enable the funding of the staff necessary to execute the work
o Manages the job budget, approves time sheets and expense reports.
o Develops and builds the resident team capabilities to support a growing workload
o Leads teams assigned to various shops that are responsible for ensuring the suppliers performance to project expectations on ethics, quality, schedule and cost. Teams consist of resident engineers, expediters, supplier quality representatives and traffic and logistics representatives.
Interface with project materials manger and field procurement group:
o Provide fortnightly reports for fabrication status.
• Overall fabrication progress curve reports
• Scheduled progress
• Actual progress
• Look ahead fabricated product costs by package based on agreed PO schedule of rates per commodity.
• Fabrication costing report by package, by fabricator.
o Input in developing new fabrication purchase orders.
• Develop new strategies for additional fabrication suppliers
Interface with project controls.
o Review current project delivery schedule requirements with fabrication managers
o Develop fabrication schedule plan to meet project delivery requirements
o Provide updated forecast fabrication delivery status reports.
Interface with project engineering
o Review current engineering / shop detail deliverable schedule items.
o Review RFI and SDDR issues within fabrication / engineering.
o Interface with fabrication / engineering raw material issues.
Interface with project Traffic and Logistics:
o Develop delivery plan for packages identified for each shipment
o Interface with T and L / shipping agent and fabrication to develop shipping strategy.
o Provide updated data for changes to shipping strategy based upon project control changes.
Interface with project site construction group:
o Review fabrication deliverable issues
o Provide support to construction for identification of fabrication errors
• Provide support to carry out remedial works.
Interface with project accounts group
o Provide fabrication package cost evaluation.
o Provide approval and back up data for raw material invoice payment to fabrication.
• Report current status of actual raw materials receipted within the fabrication facility.
• Issue fabrication invoices and approval to pay data to accounts.
• Maintain payment tracking report against approvals.
o Provide approval and back up data for fabricated product invoice payment to fabrication.
• Report current status of fabricated package products within the fabrication facility.
• Issue fabrication invoices and approval to pay data to accounts.
• Maintain payment tracking report against approvals
• Interface for project funds release from accounts to fabrication.
Interface with project Supplier Quality manager and resident shop SQR.
