Job Description
Principal Accountabilities:
- Collects, correlates and study the available information required for the project, from the existing drawings and documents
- Conducts field investigations, tale measurements, prepared detailed sketches and written notes, in preparation to produce the required detailed design drawings.
- Develops design parameters with discipline engineers to reflect project requirements, resolve problems and provide alternative options
- Produce detailed design elements using information firm various sources which may include site studies, vendor drawings, catalogue data, engineering sketches, reference drawings and input from other disciplines
- Prepares clear, accurate and complete engineering design/construction and 'As Built' drawings using practical knowledge. This would require through working knowledge and application of the relevant discipline (Control, Instrument, Communication & Electrical, Piping & Mechanical, Civil & Structural) codes, standards and installation practices for Oil/ Gas Industry
- Checks all drawings and documents produced in the relevant disciplines for each project, at the different stages of their issue, to ensure compliance with ZADCO DOP and ascertain correct detailed design / drafting work
- Provides technical guidance to design draftsmen, where required
- Coordinated design information with other drawing office disciplines, in the development of complete drawing packages
- Performs project-related tasks such as assisting in the scope of works, preparing deliverables list, eliminating man-hours, scheduling and reporting etc. related to project drafting requirements
- Conducts quality checks on all project drawings from vendors and contractor's including the final deliverables for compliance to Company drafting practices
- Ensure that a set of Master drawings are prepared as part of the Critical Drawings Update project and they are continuously updated to reflect the 'As Built' status, incorporating the changes due to implementation of new projects
- Participates in the development of Drawing Office work procedures and attends project meetings, as and when required.
- Follow up on project copies issued, ensure proper housekeeping of drawings in EDMS/SPF
- Responsible for managing all drafting data and uploading them to EDMS/SPF
- Evaluate Tag/Drawing number requests from all clients within and outside the company
- Contribute in the selection design drafting software and customizing them to suit company requirements
- Evaluates contractors proposals and assists in trade testing in recruitment of New Design Draughstman
Desired Candidate Profile
Minimum Requirements:
- High Diploma in Engineering Technology and ten years related experience in Oil & Gas or related Process Industries
- In-Depth working knowledge of discipline drafting specific skills, codes and standard practices
- High level of drafting skills using AutoCAD, GTX Raster and additional Add-om application like Smart Plant Tool softwares. Excellent computer skills including practical knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets and other related applications
- Leadership skills with written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
- Good command of English Language
