Job Title: Piping Engineer III (Upstream)
Location: Houston, TX, US
Primary Job Responsibilities:
Works under the direction of the Piping Engineering Lead Engineer and in training for the duties of lead piping engineer at the project level to accomplish the following:
- Develops conceptual layouts and cost studies,
- Produces detailed design calculations, hand calculations or design reviews as required and mark up stress isos’ with relevant comments for piping design, civil structural and pressure vessel groups.
- Checks calculations made by other engineers.
- Assists the drafting group in resolving routine layout and detailing problems,
- Monitors drawings in progress, working with the Piping Team Leader, to ensure piping conformance with the design calculations.
- Assembling bid packages for piping purchase inquiries to be issued for procurement of materials or subcontract pricing, technical evaluation of all piping bids.
- Assume the full responsibility for the line list and SP items
- Training and Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering performing design engineering and analysis for less complex units under general supervision.
- Bachelors and/or Masters of Engineering degree is required.
- Experience with the following software packages is essential, Caesar II, Nozzle Pro and FE Pipe.
- Will be working on stress analysis, line list and specialty items, is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex units.
- Takes an active roll in the development of piping bid packages and technical evaluations of those vendor bids.
