Aker Solutions' process equipment team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, provide specialized products and services through the design and engineering of new systems as well as maintenance and modification of existing systems. We need experienced individual who can strengthen our team and support our ambitious growth plans within the Asia Pacific market. We are looking for an Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities and tasks
• Maintenance of high HSE and Quality standards during the execution of Projects
• Conceptual design of modular packages with optimized layout at proposal stage using PDNS, Cadworks etc
• Development of weight estimates and Bills of Material to be used for pricing and project cost estimates
• Upon award, further refinement of modular skid package 3D model and development of General Arrangement drawings and views
• Incorporation of vessels, pumps, exchangers etc and optimizing layouts
• Understanding vessel design and ASME Section VIII Division I
• Mechanical Design of piping inclusive of selection of material, pipe schedules etc with applicable Codes such as ANSI B31.3.
• Understanding of Stress/Fatigue vessels and piping
• Best practice for structural skids, ladders and platforms
• Review of piping and general arrangement drawings for optimized operations and maintenance e.g. location of manways etc.
• Support of bid and proposal development
• Management of engineering hours to budget
• Interaction with client on discussions of mechanical design
• Training, mentoring of staff and support functions
• Ownership of projects
Qualifications & personal attributes
• Minimum a bachelor degree in engineering
• Minimum of 3 years experience with module design
• Experience with vessel, piping and structural design
• Project Management experience preferred
• A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in process packaging
• People management skills will be an added advantage
• Fluent in verbal and written English
• Ability to lead a team or project if required
