Description
Plans and leads preliminary studies of job requirements, scoping, determining design criteria and formulating design concepts for a major segment of a project. Frequently assigned to take lead role in the piping development of the PDS/PDMS 3D Model for his or her area of responsibility. May also be responsible for the checking and design verification of the Piping deliverables produced by the Piping Team. Under general supervision, independently applies advanced engineering techniques, makes decisions on engineering problems and methods and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important questions or to negotiate with key engineers and officials of other organizations. Performs all conventional aspects of the functional area subject matter in piping engineering. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Plans schedules and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Performs work which involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements. Provides technical guidance to designers and less experienced engineers.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering AND 7 years progressively responsible experience working on piping development projects including LNG, Ethylene, Refining, Ammonia, Offshore fixed platforms and/or Offshore FPSO vessels utilizing 3D CAD and either PDS or PDMS 3D Plant Modeling software. Experience must include all aspects of piping engineering including plot plan development, plant layout, piping materials, pipe supports and detail design.
