Job Role Summary

Job Responsibilities:
• Supports piping engineering needs across ExxonMobil projects and/or producing/manufacturing operations organization.
• Conducts detailed technical evaluations to address issues with piping equipment and system design, operation and maintenance
• Individual contributor:
o Performs routine work independently and undertakes complex problems or issues with the guidance of a senior engineer.
o Conducts detailed technical evaluations to address issues with Piping and system design, operation and maintenance.
• Provides technical assistance to Root Cause Failure Analysis teams.
• Reviews project and contractor deliverables as requested to ensure compliance with project specifications, Design Practices, Static Equipment Toolkit guidance, and best practices.  Documents to be reviewed may include Piping & Instrument Diagrams, piping arrangements, piping material specifications, Stress analysis reports, data sheets, vendor proposals, and technical studies.
• Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to ExxonMobil’s worldwide production affiliates and capital projects in the area of piping and valves.
• Participates in design reviews, risk assessments, Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP), vendor qualification, and vendor bid evaluations as requested.
• Uses breadth of technical discipline experience to Coordinate/Collaborate across all technical disciplines, as well as Site Operations to develop pragmatic, general interest solutions.
• Supports functional initiatives and maintains discipline documentation pertinent to oil & gas, and chemical facilities.  
• Provides technical mentorship and training to less experienced engineers within the Piping discipline.
• Proactively and continuously grows technical expertise in pertinent technologies.
• Maintains current knowledge (e.g. through participation in industry training, conferences and forums).

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a related Engineering Discipline from recognized university with minimum GPA 7.0 or above.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, LNG, or related industries.
• Engineering knowledge and capability to perform detailed engineering reviews, perform and evaluate engineering analyses.  Experience in coordinating & leading these reviews.
• Knowledge of the following consistent with level of experience:
o Industry design standards, specifications, codes, and safety criteria
o Crude oil & gas, and chemical facility design
o Working knowledge of piping 3D Modelling; Stress analysis software (e.g., Caesar II or equivalent) and Plant Manager (including Fitness For Service).
• Troubleshoot Piping & Valves, oversee technical work of less experienced personnel.
• Broad and extensive knowledge of:
o Industry design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria.  These include ASME B31.1, B31.3; API 570, API 576 and API 579 (or equivalent international standards such as ISO)”.
• Significant experience in selection, design, fabrication start-up, operation and maintenance of piping equipment (Including valves and supports) and interaction with static, rotating pressure equipment and materials.
• Demonstrated ability to understand and support client needs.
• Onshore and offshore facilities design; along with direct experience working onsite in oil & gas, and chemical facilities.
• Participated in Layout Model Reviews, Hazard Identification (HAZID), design reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, vendor qualification, and vendor bid evaluations as requested.  Experience in coordinating & leading these reviews.
• Tangible breadth of experience in multiple technical disciplines, in addition to depth of knowledge in Mechanical/Piping.
• Worked as Lead Engineer on Capital Projects
• Multiple prior assignments that provide a variety of exposure to global oil & gas, and chemical operations.
• Demonstrated team or technical leadership with strong organizational, planning, management, and technical judgment skills. Able to develop others, collaborate, coordinate and influence across functions.
• Good understanding of project life cycle and department interfaces.
• Good understanding of oil & gas, and chemical facilities operations priorities
• Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs.
• Willing and able to travel as required, both domestic and international.
• Flexible to work in shifts.
