Role Synopsis • Control of all construction works / activities within Greenfield Gas Export Compressor (GEC) area of the new terminal (principally the mechanical / piping / structural elements);
• Oversee the management of the GEC area works through the Main Terminal Contractor (MTC) in the greenfield area;
• Compile assurance reports on progress, safety, quality and cost throughout the project stages;
• Provide discipline specific support and construction input for the preparation of the Onshore Terminal technical documentation (risks, lessons learned, constructability, etc.)

Key accountabilities • Promoting project HSE objectives;
• Participate in the Onshore and Offshore team Risk Management Process;
• Participate in task risk assessment meetings;
• Coordinate BP area construction team and provide guidance to MTC teams in all aspects of the construction of the terminal project, including HSE, Quality, schedule and cost related issues in the GEC area in particular relating to the mechanical / piping / structural disciplines;
• Ensure the construction effort is being applied in accordance with Project schedule, budgets and all BP Operating Management System (OMS) requirements in the greenfield / GEC area;
• Monitor contractor performance and highlight any concerns to line manager;
• Review of KBR Approved for Construction (AFC) design documents in the green field /GEC area;
• Assist in the Construction team Lessons Learned Process;
• Providing engineering assistance to the construction contractor for resolution of issues, (engineering, schedule, quality);
• Review and approval of procedures as necessary.
• Expediting site query response from KBR, where applicable;
• Witnessing and approving site acceptance tests, and promote quality build approach.
• Review and acceptance of contractor procedures for fabrication, assembly and erection of the Terminal facilities in general, and in particular the GEC area;
• Attending / holding project meetings as required;
• Compilation of reports as required;
• Provide advice, coaching and training to Azeri National personnel;
• Assist Procurement and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) in the process of procuring packages as required, throughout the supply chain, through to commissioning ;

Essential Education Bachelor Degree in Engineering

Essential experience and job requirements • Minimum 5 years’ experience in oil and gas / petrochemical or relevant international projects, in a similar role leading to development of the following skill sets:
a) Leading teams of construction personnel in a professional manner through all of the main aspects of a project (planning, organisation, motivational, control systems)
b) Coordinate planning activities on a daily / weekly basis and linking into schedule
c) Organising resources into work groups suitable to oversee the timely completion of the construction activities.
d) Coordinating resolution of technical issues at site level and liaising with engineering
e) Employing motivational techniques to enhance performance from employees under your control
• Experience in communicating effectively with contractor’s/line managers/ and supervision in English language (oral and written);
• Understand how to read relevant engineering drawings , specifications, codes;
• Experience and knowledge in control of budget, progress in P3/P6, and reporting same in a structured format;

Other Requirements (e.g. Travel, Location) • Understanding of all construction engineering disciplines, particularly mechanical / piping / structural disciplines, in the onshore Oil and Gas related fields;
• Keen awareness of management of behavioural based site safety programmes;
• Good IT skills, (understanding of MS office, etc.)

• Knowledge and understanding of BP management operating systems
