Job description

Location: Athens, Rome or abroad

Job purpose:

Leads and takes the ownership of specific tasks in a project:

- Technical responsibility of Material Requisitions,

- Performing Design Calculations, 2-D and 3-D design work,

- Coordination with other disciplines,

- Forecasting of MTOs for his design area,

- Reviewing vendor documents.

Reporting lines and interactions:

Hierarchically reports to: Piping Dept. Coordinator

Operationally reports to: Lead Piping Engineer

Directly supervises (operationally):  Not Applicable

Key interactions (internally, externally):

Internally: Other discipline engineers, Project Engineers, Designers

Externally: Possibly vendors for the items procured, subcontractors

Profile:

Must have

• Engineering Degree or Diploma (4 or 5 year degree, GPA>7.0)
• 2-D design knowledge
• Design / Drafting S/W (AUTOCAD etc.)
• Knowledge of General S/W (MS Office etc.)
• Be able to work in a team environment and handle multiple Project responsibilities
• Willing to work on a national and international environment
• Fluent in Greek
• Fluent in English

Nice to have

• 3+ years experience in Design and execution of projects in onshore or offshore facilities
• Knowledge of 3-D design S/W (PDS or other)
• Knowledge of  MICROSTATION S/W
• Field Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of materials

Main accountabilities:

• Ensures timely approval of engineering and requisitioning documents from the client as well as timely technical and economical definition of change orders and claims.
• Prepares updates and checks calculations for detailed engineering.
• Contributes to optimization of material quantities by proposing value engineering solutions.
• Ensures contractual technical specifications are met by the suppliers- Adheres to the committed man/hours and budget
• Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering / requisitioning activities.
• Meets quality objectives of the project
• Interfaces with other discipline specialist engineers and possibly project support functions such as procurement and planning.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior engineering employees
