System One is currently seeking Piping Design professional a full time direct or long term contract professional for a challenging design opportunity using SMARTPLANT here in the Orlando area. This is full time direct to contract role, 40 hours per week with a growing industrial firm.
Position Title: Piping Designer SmartPlant

Purpose of Position: This position is responsible for developing piping system designs that satisfies contract and schedule requirements for Gas Turbine power projects in the Americas. Responsibilities:
+ Understanding of piping design philosophy and ability to perform piping designs for high energy and process piping per applicable ASME codes and standards.
+ Develops piping design utilizing SmartPLANT (SP3D).
+ Must have ability to extract and develop drawings/documents for General Arrangement and Piping Isometrics drawings in SmartPLANT (SP3D) for field and shop fabrication.
+ Should be strong enough to perform the modeling of all the disciplines in SmartPLANT (SP3D).
+ Hands-on experience using SmartPLANT (S3PD) software.
+ Coordinate with Piping Engineering Team and other engineers.
+ Interact with other design disciplines on a daily basis to resolve issues; review and provide comments on engineering related documents; understand design interface activities.
+ Meet Schedule requirements for engineering deliverables to ensure project schedules are met.

+ Develop processes and procedures that will ensure an effective and optimized use of resources while providing high quality design packages.

+ Perform other technical Project implementation duties as required from time to time.

Education / Experience:
+ Five years of design experience by using any piping modeling software (required)
+ Three Plus years of relevant experience in the use of SmartPLANT (SP3D). (required)

+ Exposure on SmartPLANT Reference DATA. (desired)
+ Ability to do customization and automation with SmartPLANT tools. (desired)

Basic Functions

  • To carryout Piping Designer studies in a hands on role;

Pipe Spool Coordinator
Reports to Project Materials Manager
Manage, on the behalf of GBU, the entire pipe spool supply chain, including fabricators, test labs, distributors, steel mills, etc.
Knowledge / Capability
• Understands piping model development and ISO generation processes.
• Work with Materials Manager and Construction to prioritise lines and assist in development of priority sequences for ISO production within an area to ensure ISOs are issued to meet construction discrete schedule requirements and then relay this information through to Engineering for execution.
• Interface between Engineering, Document Control and fabricators for controlling the issue of ISOs once produced, RFI/SDDR cycling and issue resolution.
