LOCATION

Position: Senior Piping Designer

Reports to: Piping Engineer

Qualifications: Diploma in a technical field

Years and Type of Experience

Technical Knowledge

Thorough knowledge of onshore design engineering for the oil, gas and water field.
Thorough knowledge of Penspen’s Drawing Office standards.
Through knowledge of drafting standards of the Client (ADNOC, ADCO, GASCO, Takreer, QP, KOC, KNPC and other Penspen Clients).
Ability to independently originate and check Piping design drawings with minimal input from engineers.
Familiarity with the design requirements of other disciplines (Civil, I&C, Electrical and Pipeline)
Through knowledge of 2D and 3D CADD applications.
Knowledge of PDS or equivalent software is an added advantage.
Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ASME B31.3, ASME VIII, ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8 and so on).

Job Responsibilities

To execute the job in compliance with the project requirements and Company’s Quality Systems.
Responsible to meet project manhour and schedule targets for all assigned deliverable.
To be thoroughly conversant with the project P&IDs, Piping Material Specifications (PMS) and overall Plot Plans in order to produce GA Drawings, Layouts and Isometrics.
Prepare design layouts or schematics based on sketches or instructions from engineers.
To liaise with engineers for the production of Piping drawings.
To check the work of the design team members.
To monitor the work and progress of assigned supporting designers/draftsmen.
Prepare layout/route studies for discussion/evaluation with engineers.
Prepare detailed design and installation drawings.
To coordinate with other discipline engineers/designers on the requirements/implications of the piping design for the assigned project.
Prepare route layouts.
Assemble documentation packages and produce drawing sets to be checked by engineers.
