Description and Desired Qualifications
CH2M Lead Piping Designer ( Water Projects ) - Abu Dhabi
The challenge? Help develop and provide high quality, leading edge sustainable engineering solutions to our industrial wastewater clients. Our Lead Piping Designer position will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting projects in the Middle East region. Each day you will design, coordinate, execute multiple wastewater engineering projects. You should be a self-motivated, detailed oriented design professional with a minimum of 10 years of piping design experience for water treatment, wastewater treatment, oil and gas or chemical facilities and a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each piping design project.
Our Lead Piping Designers:
• Supervise/ Lead the project design team for piping including determining work assignments and meeting project budget and schedule
• Participate in design coordination with engineers and project management
• Perform design work utilizing 3D CAD systems
• Participate in the generation of proposals, scopes, schedules and budgets
• Provide input to and help develop P&IDs, equipment specifications, vendor proposals and technical studies
• Mentor junior staff
• Act as design lead on assigned projects
• Participate in construction support activities including responses to requests for information (RFIs), submittal reviews, construction site visits and inspections, and design revisions/ management of change
Basic Qualifications
Job Responsibilities and Accountability:
Appropriate engineering degree or equivalent
Minimum 10 years relevant experience
3 years' experience as a lead designer for heavy industrial projects
5 years' experience utilizing a 3D piping package such as SP3D, CADDworx or similar
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Previous work experience in Water & Wastewater industry for industrial clients
Previous experience in engineering consultancy
Must be willing to travel to meet project needs
Strong working relationships with industrial clients
Previous work experience in Middle East
Degree Required
Bachelors or 4 Year Degree
