Overview

Foster Wheeler is currently seeking a PDS Piping Designer 6. The PDS Piping Designer 6 will be responsible for developing piping designs for petrochemical, chemical, refinery and LNG facilities through the various engineering work phases (i.e. studies, conceptual design, FEED packages, and detailed engineering).

Responsibilities

PDS Piping Designer 6 responsibilities include: developing piping and equipment layouts in PDS 3D using P&ID’s, sized equipment list, line list, equipment & instrument data, standard supports, and piping material specifications.  Designer 6’s will need to be able to extract isometrics, build equipment in PDS, design piping layouts, keep their model area clash free, report on design progress, and work with other design disciplines to gather information required for the model.

PDS Piping Designer 6’s will produce high quality piping layouts by constantly considering safety, maintenance, best design practices, and constructability concerns of the project. The Designer may work as a Lead, Technical Supervisor, or Individual Contributor based on the size of the project.

Qualifications

Qualified candidates must possess a High School diploma.  Additional vocational or college education is a plus. Candidates must have 8 years of experience with piping design. Relevant experience will be with petrochemical, chemical, refinery and LNG facilities.

Candidates should have strong experience and knowledge of PDS (Equipment, Piping, Isometric Manager, and Drawing Manager). In addition, candidates should have several years of experience with AutoCAD or Microstation.

Experience with SmartPlant Review or Navisworks is a plus.

Must be legally authorized to work in the USA for any employer other than your current employer.
