Fluor has been established for over 100 years and has a global headcount of 43,000. We undertake a wide range of projects including studies, conceptual design, front-end engineering design and full engineering, procurement and construction contracts.

Under general supervision, the successful candidate will be required to:
Prepare layout and or schematics for conceptual and detailed design of moderately to advance complex designs
Reviews drawings, and vendor equipment documentation of moderate to advance complexity from both within the discipline as well as from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements and actively seeks resolution
Check moderately to advance complex piping design drawings
Squad check of vendor equipment drawings of Moderate to advance Complexity
Interface with other design disciplines
Can work Independently with little or no supervision
Proficient in 2D AutoCAD, Microstation and 3D PDS CAD capabilities, as required
Provides close interface with, and promotes the understanding of, other discipline functions
Conducts reviews of model using 3D Review platform
Applies project drawing standards to design drawings
Assist the Design Supervisor, as required
Supervisory experience of other Designers
Communicates both verbally and in written form in a professional manner
Participate in general piping department training programs/seminars and on-line training
Participate in people development through mentoring of less experienced Designers
Evaluate Performance Appraisal input and administer counseling
Become familiar with Knowledge Online Community, Fluor standards and procedures, as well as other industry codes and standards
Become familiar with Fluor internal work practices and culture to facilitate development of leadership skills
Able to work in a team environment as well as working across multiple execution offices

Fluor’s Farnborough campus is a modern, state-of-the-art complex situated close to the main line station and adjoining Farnborough Airport. Our campus accommodates approximately 1,800 people and includes undercover parking, landscaped grounds with outdoor recreation and seating areas, a central coffee shop, subsidised restaurant and good access to local shopping and transportation networks. A shuttle bus service operates between the two local stations and is also available at lunch times for trips to local shopping centres.

Principal Piping Designer Basic Job Requirements


Suitable candidates will be educated to a minimum ONC level, HNC, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent in Engineering
Proficient in 2D AutoCAD, Microstation and 3D PDS CAD capabilities
Candidates will have demonstrable experience within the oil, gas and chemical industry
