Job Description

Job Title                   : Design System Administrator -PDMS

Department                  : Engineering & Operations Information Management

Reports to                  : Engineering Data Lead

Position description – Purpose

Responsible for the set-up, supervision and administration of multidiscipline project catalogue databases, maintenance and users support and training for the PDMS 3D CAD engineering systems from project inception through to final documentation and close out of projects.

External relationships with Contractors, Specialist Consultants and Vendors.


Experience and Qualifications required

•BSc. in engineering or technical equivalent.
•Is proficient in 3D CAD (PDMS, PDS, others) with at least 5 years of industry discipline related CAD design experience (piping, structural, electrical/instrumentation).
•At least 3 years of experience in applying the PDMS Admin skill to upstream oil and gas projects with experience on major capital projects.


Position description – (Roles &) Accountabilities

Technical Abilities:

•Possesses solid knowledge/experience (multiple years) of PDMS project administration in the support of major projects (including support of a PDMS user community with the various PDMS modules and operating systems UNIX/NT) and is proficient in the use of PML.
•Further exposure and experience with Oracle, Fortran, C languages, LISP and Visual Basic would be most desirable.
•Possesses PDMS/REVIEW/AutoCAD knowledge.
•Possesses broad design experience with quality control/checking skills, and knowledge of fabrication techniques. Has knowledge of oil and gas production facility design standards/specifications.
•Has ability to effectively interface with multiple communities, including process managers, engineering project managers, design engineers, designer/drafters, alliance consultants, vendors and other team leaders.
•Has hardware knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project).
•Has complete understanding of FEED/detail design deliverables for projects


Responsibility:

•Understands the scope of each project and has the capability to create PDMS project database structures that will enable the 3D design and subsequent creation of deliverables from the PDMS project databases. This includes interfacing with other project databases (Oracle, Engineering Design Database, etc.) with the PDMS databases.
•Follow/ensure Quality Management System Requirements are met in line with ISO 9001- 2008 requirements
•Has a working knowledge of Aveva’s PDMS Global application
•Coordinates multi-discipline design expertise using 3D PDMS CAD systems.
•Works closely with Design Systems Section Lead and interfaces with discipline Project Engineers, Project Management, Multidiscipline Engineers in quality control, drawings delivery and overall project support.
•Recommends, designs and implements work process improvements.
•Is aware of industry leading technology trends and applications.
•Architects technology infrastructure to reduce cycle time and cost.
•Actively supports Lessons Learned feedback.
