Aker Solutions Piping department, based in Kuala Lumpur, consists today of 118 highly skilled engineers and designers. We perform detail design and layouts of new offshore installations and land based process plants as well as participate in FEEDs. This includes activities like equipment layout, LQ layout and ergonomics, stress analysis of critical piping, pipe support activities, detailed specification of piping components and valves, material and weight take off, material handling activities and site operations support for our ongoing projects worldwide.

Responsibilities and tasks
As piping designer you wil prepar drawings to bid drawings, FEEDs or detail engineering. Tasks include:
• Execute engineering drafting work as part of an engineering team.
• Apply applicable company & industry drawing standards to all drawing work undertaken.
• Use company CAD facilities in accordance with company and client standards and procedures.
• Carry out formal drawing checking in accordance with instructions.
• Ensuring that the work is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the current releases of any Company / Client or Statutory Design Codes, Standards or Procedures, including PEM, as directed by the Engineers, and/or Senior Designers

Qualifications & personal attributes
• Relevant education
• Working knowledge of 2D CAD systems (AutoCAD / Microstation)
• Working knowledge of  3D CAD systems (PDMS)
• Good oral and written English skills
• Good team working abilities
• Pro-active attitude
