Due to a new project award, we are currently seeking a qualified Senior Project Engineer - Power with experience in the power industry to be part our team that will design and manage the construction of two greenfield gas-turbine power plants in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Job Requirements

Job Specific Knowledge:

  • 7 years experience proven ability as a senior piping designer on projects in the power/hydrocarbon or related industries.
  • PDS

Industry Specific Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years industrial experience

Has experience in construction of electrical energy generating plants and transmission lines or infrastructure industries and has engineering design experience on medium to large projects.  Assists the design supervisor in coordinating design management with engineering discipline lead engineers. Responsible for preparing and reviewing calculations, design drawings and other information. Supports construction and procurement with preparation of drawings and material take offs. Reviews as built drawings and assists with collection of design information required by construction and procurement. Must have thorough knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures and specifications.

Position Title: Senior Designer

Reports To – Functional Manager or delegate:

Design Manager, Discipline Lead or Principal Designer, or a delegate of any of the above.

Supervises/ Direct Reports: May supervise a small discipline team.

Purpose of Position:

Provide discipline specific design and drafting services to WorleyParsons and its clients, including technical support and supervision both within the discipline and to other disciplines.

If required, manage and lead a small discipline team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES OF POSITION:

1. Deliver discipline specific design and drafting services that meet WorleyParsons, the client’s and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

2. Initiate, manage and if required supervise, design and drafting assignments on projects requirements on time and within budget.

3. Perform discipline specific design and drafting services such as:

a) Ensure the project scope is clear and that changes to scope comply with project change management processes;

b) If required, participate in studies and analyses and recommend actions;

c) Prepare and oversee the production of engineering drawings and documentation;

d) Ensure all drawings and documents are checked in accordance with WorleyParsons checking

procedures; and

e) Participate in project reviews as required.

4. Provide technical support, supervision and advice to the discipline team and project teams, participate in peer reviews, and consult relevant resources as required.

5. Communicate effectively with the discipline team, clients and other project stakeholders, and make

presentations as required.

6. If required, act as the discipline Lead on specific projects.

7. Establish and maintain good working relationships within WorleyParsons, with its clients and other

stakeholders.

8. Proactively resolve any discrepancies between WorleyParsons and the client’s requirements.

9. Identify issues and problems; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if

required.

10. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in the discipline.

11. Where required, prepare or assist in the preparation of project documentation such as budgets, estimates, forecasts, schedules and reports.

consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to WorleyParsons and its clients.

2. Competent in the use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and highly competent in the use of

design software.

Experience:

Required:

 Substantial design and drafting experience in the relevant discipline in the same or similar

industry, including experience in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.

Guide:

 Approximately 7 years.

Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Preferred:

 A recognised design qualification in the relevant discipline or equivalent.
